Donato Loia
Donato Loia is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2023, he received a PhD in Art History from The University of Texas at Austin. For his academic and curatorial work, he has received awards from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). His work has appeared in Religion and the Arts, New Blackfriars, Critical Inquiry, and Mise-en-Scène: The Journal of Film & Visual Narration, among other places. He is the author of a book of aphoristic thoughts and notes-to-self,1095 Short Sentences (B-Side Editions, 2024). Currently he lives and works in Chicago, IL.
