Steve Yarbrough is the author of three story collections and five novels, the most recent of which, Safe from the Neighbors, was published by Alfred A. Knopf in 2010.  A former winner of the California Book Award and the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Award for Fiction, he was also a finalist for the 2005 PEN/Faulkner award, for his novel Prisoners of War (Alfred A. Knopf, 2004). Yarbrough teaches at Emerson College.
