ALAN CHEUSE

Alan Cheuse is the author of five novels, including The Light Possessed (Peregrine Smith Books, 1990), To Catch the Lightning (Sourcebooks Landmark, 2008), which won the 2009 Grub Street National Book Prize for Fiction, and Song of Slaves in the Desert (Sourcebooks Landmark, 2011), as well as several collections of short fiction. He is also the author of a collection of travel writing, A Trance After Breakfast (Sourcebooks, Inc., 2009), and an introduction to literary studies, Literature: Craft & Voice (McGraw-Hill, 2010), with Nicholas Delbanco. His short fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, The Southern Review, The Antioch Review, and elsewhere. Cheuse has also been a regular contributor of book reviews to National Public Radio’s All Things Considered since 1982.  end
