Tina Griego
TINA GRIEGO

Tina Griego is the recipient of the 2011 Paul Tobenkin Memorial Award from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, the 2009 Best of the West Feature Writing Award, the 2006 Frank del Olmo Print Journalist of the Year Award from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and a 1998 National Headliner Award. She was reporter and writer on the Los Angeles Times team that won a 1993 Pulitzer Prize for spot news reporting. Griego is a member of the Scripps Howard Hall of Fame for commentary and received an Emmy from the Heartland Region for Public/Current/Community Affairs Feature segment in 2011. In her twelve years as a columnist for the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News, she won nine annual first place awards for Best News Column and Best Column from the Colorado Press Association, the Colorado Associated Press Editors & Reporters, and the Colorado chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Griego serves as news editor at Style Weekly, Richmond’s alternative weekly newspaper.  end
