My Friend Who Climbed into a Sentence
after The Bothersome Man by Jens Lien

The last place I saw her alive was the bus stop on Alberta but it wasn’t a bus she ultimately stepped into it was more like a sentence masquerading as a bus it was winter as she climbed the steps she turned back to me and said “It is snowing and it is going to snow” and the O shape of the last syllable of the last word she spoke entered the banquet halls of ice and entered into the way the winter birds nod and greet one another with that same ancient sound the shape of it the shape she took that O that will never be filled in to form the only mark that could end this sentence
