Robert Alden Rubin is the author of the memoir On the Beaten Path: An Appalachian Pilgrimage (Lyons Press, 2000) and has selected and edited two anthologies of poetry from Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill: Love Poetry Out Loud (2006) and Poetry Out Loud (1993). Rubin earned an MA in creative writing from Hollins University and a PhD in English literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has taught writing and communications at the George Washington University–Chapel Hill and teaches writing at Meredith College.
