Laura Van Prooyen’s second collection of poems, Our House Was on Fire (forthcoming from Ashland Poetry Press, 2015), won the 2014 Robert McGovern Publication Prize from Ashland Poetry Press. Her manuscript was nominated by Philip Levine. Van Prooyen teaches creative writing at Henry Ford Academy: Alameda School for Art + Design.
