back JENNY BROWNE

Boom
Midland, Texas

In these grassless
pastures a hand

the one who pigs
the pipelines clean.

Big Bear is a hitch
& fish the word

for whatever gets
dropped in the bore.

Here, horses of crude,
your heaven wheezes.

In the bar that boy
with Nashville teeth

sings all the money
back to sleep.  end
