Brian Henry is the author of ten books of poetry, including Doppelgänger (Talisman House, 2011), Lessness (Ahsahta Press, 2011), and Quarantine (Ahsahta Press, 2006). His poems have been translated into Croatian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovenian, and Spanish. His criticism has appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times Book Review, Times Literary Supplement, The Kenyon Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, and Boston Review. His translation of Tomaž Šalamun’s Woods and Chalices appeared from Harcourt in 2008, and his translation of Aleš Šteger’s The Book of Things appeared as a Lannan Foundation selection from BOA Editions in 2010 and won the 2011 Best Translated Book Award. His translation of Aleš Debeljak’s Smugglers is forthcoming from BOA Editions in 2015. Henry’s poetry and translations have received numerous honors, including an NEA fellowship, a Howard Foundation grant, the Alice Fay di Castagnola Award, the Carole Weinstein Poetry Prize, the Cecil Hemley Memorial Award, the George Bogin Memorial Award, and a Slovenian Academy of Arts and Sciences grant. Henry has coedited Verse since 1995.
