A Reading by Charles Wright

Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winner Charles Wright opened the Marcia Powell Festival of Religion and the Arts with an intimate reading of poems from his most recent book Caribou (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2014). At the time of the reading, April 9, 2015, Wright was the U.S. Poet Laureate. A technical problem with the sound system in the room proved fortuitous as Wright recited poems and told stories without the aid of a microphone as the audience sat on the floor around him.
