GAIL WRONSKY

Gail Wronsky is the author, coauthor, and translator of twelve books of poetry and prose, including the poetry collections Imperfect Pastorals (What Books Press, 2017), So Quick Bright Things (What Books Press, 2010), Poems for Infidels (Red Hen Press, 2005), and Dying for Beauty (Copper Canyon Press, 2000). She is the translator of Argentinean poet Alicia Partnoy’s book Flowering Fires/Fuegos Florales (Settlement House Press, 2014). Her poems have appeared in many journals, including Poetry, Denver Quarterly, Poetry International, and Volt. Her play Tomorrow You’ll Be One of Us (What Books Press, 2013), cowritten with Chuck Rosenthal, was recently produced at the Craft and Folk Art Museum of Los Angeles in 2016. Her work has appeared in several anthologies, including Coiled Serpent: Poets Arising from the Cultural Quakes and Shifts of Los Angeles (Tia Chucha Press, 2016), In Possession of Shakespeare: Writing into Nothing (Marymount Institute Press/Tsehai, 2012), The Black Body (Seven Stories Press, 2009), and Poets Against War (Thunder’s Mouth Press/Nation Books, 2003). Wronsky is the winner of the American Poetry Prize from Settlement House Press in and an Artist’s Fellowship from the California Arts Council. She teaches poetry, poetry writing, and women’s literature at Loyola Marymount University.  end
