Cyan James’s writing has appeared in Beloit Poetry Journal, Gettysburg Review, Harvard Review, and the Michigan Quarterly Review, among others. She holds an MFA in fiction from the University of Michigan, where she was awarded the John Wagner Prize for nonfiction, the Bain-Swigget Poetry Prize, and an Avery Hopwood Award. She also holds a PhD in public health genetics and works in health policy in Arlington, VA.
