Julio Monteiro Martins (1955–2014) was the author of the poetry collection La grazia di casa mia, published in 2013 by Rediviva Edizioni in Milan. In addition to poetry, he wrote essays, stories, and theatrical works, and was a prominent teacher and publisher. Martins was born in NiterĂ³i, Brazil, but lived for many years in Italy. In his home country he worked as a lawyer for human rights and environmental causes; in Italy he was director of the online journal Sagarana. Little of his work has yet been published in English.  end
