IRA SADOFF

Ira Sadoff is the author of Country Living, forthcoming from Alice James Books (2020), as well as True Faith (BOA Editions, 2012), Palm Reading in Winter (Carnegie Mellon University Press, 2014), History Matters: Contemporary Poetry on the Margins of American Culture (University of Iowa Press, 2009) and several other titles of poetry and other work. His poems have appeared in AGNI, APR, and Tin House, and been anthologized in The Bloomsbury Anthology of Contemporary Jewish American Poetry (Bloomsbury, 2013), The Ecopoetry Anthology (Trinity University Press, 2013), The Paris Review Book for Planes, Trains, Elevators and Waiting Rooms (Paris Review Editions, 2005), and elsewhere. He won the Lyric Poetry Award from the Poetry Society of America in 2010, the Glenna Luchesi Prize from Prairie Schooner in 2008, the Jerome Shestack Prize from American Poetry Review in 1998, and the George Bogin Memorial Award from the Poetry Society of America in 1996. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1999 and a Creative Arts Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1979.  end
