As the winner of the 23rd annual Larry Levis Reading Prize, Ilya Kaminsky read from his prize-winning collection Deaf Republic on September 28, 2020, in a virtual event hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of English. This reading was followed by a question and answer session. The Levis Reading Prize honors the memory of the poet Larry Levis, who was a Virginia Commonwealth University faculty member at the time of his death in 1996.
