Ron Block is the author of a collection of short stories, The Dirty Shame Hotel: And Other Stories (New Rivers Press, 1998), and a chapbook, Dismal River: A Narrative Poem (New Rivers Press, 1990). His poetry has appeared in Ploughshares, Prairie Schooner, The Southern Review, and elsewhere. He is the recipient of a Distinguished Achievement Award from the Nebraska Arts Council (2000) and a National Endowment of the Arts Fiction Fellowship (2002). Block is the graduate program advisor at Rowan University.
