Dara T. Mathis’s essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, the Week, and Blood Orange Review, among others. Her essay “Water Will Carry You Home” won the 2020 Blood Orange Review contest in nonfiction. She works as a freelance journalist based in Maryland.
