And then looking back, asking myself to look back through other operations and make, draw connections, and this is very much on a formal plane, moving back and forth between a physical operation and a visual operation.

And then this from, I think 2001, one in a series of the New York Drawings, drawings that I began out of my head but also reflecting some sketchbook drawings that I did in the neighborhood of my first studio on the south side of Williamsburg. Drawings—you can see bits and pieces of things that look like drawings of the small tabletop sculpture.
