RICHARD ROTH | Collecting Myself

Forms is a display of eight-inch by ten-inch, contemporary business forms, application forms and government forms. This collection is a study of modernism via a fresh look at its paradigmatic structure—the grid. Forms are beautiful and complex structures, crisp and efficient graphic apparatus, intricate horizontal and vertical webs. These forms also constitute a chilling portrait of contemporary life in the post-industrial world. They represent the matrices that govern and discipline.
