Kinsey Katchka
KINSEY KATCHKA

Kinsey Katchka is associate curator of modern and contemporary art at the North Carolina Museum of Art.  She has published and lectured on the contemporary arts of Africa and formerly colonized regions of the world and their representation in museum exhibitions since the colonial period, particularly in international forums. Applying her background in anthropology, African studies, and museology, she has worked with artists from throughout Africa, especially Muslim North and West Africa.

Katchka has also taught university classes in anthropology, art history, African studies, and museum studies at Indiana University and St. Mary’s College of Maryland. She holds an MA and PhD in anthropology and African studies from Indiana University, as well as a bachelor's degree in international relations, French, and art history from Wellesley College.  end
