Abdulla Al-Harrasi holds a PhD in translation studies from Aston University, UK, specializing in metaphor in Arabic-to-English translation. He was assistant professor in the College of Arts at Sultan Qaboos University before becoming head of the Omani Encyclopedia Project. Al-Harrasi is a member of the European Society of Translation Studies.

Adrian Roscoe has held the chair of English at universities in Malawi, South Africa, and New Zealand, as well as a visiting professorship in African and British literature at the State University of New York. He currently teaches at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman.
