ALIKI BARNSTONE

Aliki Barnstone is the author of nine books of poetry, including Eva’s Voice, a bilingual edition (forthcoming from Vakhikon Editions, 2022), Dwelling (Sheep Meadow Press, 2016), Bright Body (White Pine Press, 2011), and Dear God, Dear Dr. Heartbreak: New and Selected Poems (Sheep Meadow Press, 2009). She has translated two books from modern Greek, Portrait Before Dark by Liana Sakelliou (Saint Julian Press, 2022) and The Collected Poems of C.P. Cavafy: A New Translation (W. W. Norton & Company, 2006). Her work has appeared in The American Poetry Review, Brevity, New Letters, and Plume, among others. She is the recipient of two Fulbright Fellowships in Greece (2006 and 2022), the 2004 Silver Pen Award from the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame, a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Fellowship in Poetry, and residencies at the Anderson Center at Tower View and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She is a professor of English at the University of Missouri and served as poet laureate of Missouri from 2016–2019.  end
