ELAINE NEIL ORR

Elaine Neil Orr is the author of the memoir Gods of Noonday: A White Girl’s African Life (University of Virginia Press, 2003), which was ranked number two among University Press Books published in 2003 by Book Sense. Recent short stories and memoirs appear in The Missouri Review, Shenandoah, Image, PMS poemmemoirstory, Southern Cultures, and The Louisville Review, among other places. Orr won a North Carolina Arts Council Fellowship in 2002 and has been a Fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Orr is a professor of literature and creative writing at North Carolina State University.  end
