Clifford Garstang
CLIFFORD GARSTANG

Clifford Garstang is the author of the short story collection In an Uncharted Country (Press 53, 2009), winner of the Peace Corps Writers’ 2010 Maria Thomas Fiction Award and a 2010 IPPY Gold Medal for Best Regional Fiction, Mid-Atlantic, and What the Zhang Boys Know (Press 53, forthcoming 2012). His short stories and book reviews have appeared in The Virginia Quarterly Review, Shenandoah, Cream City Review, Tampa Review, The Los Angeles Review, and elsewhere. He won the 2006 Confluence Fiction Prize and the 2007 GSU Review Fiction Prize. He has been a Fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and was a 2010 Walter E. Dakin Fellow at the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. Garstang holds an MA in English from Indiana University and an MFA from Queens University of Charlotte. He is also the founder and editor of Prime Number Magazine.  end
