The universe runs at 24 frames per second
when Kandinsky’s maelstrom of IV comes:
a divided painting, a duality—two black lines
cut a page, and Hang’s bodies split again,
knees on the ground, chests facing the white sky—
reverse on all fours, split, then embrace:
upside-down kisses on a rooftop—her upper
kisses his lower—the way the woman’s
black hair becomes a waterfall dripping straight down,
following black reflections of bodies.

A black background:
the arms become the legs become
the stomach, become the hands,
a beast of four of each—
two black reflections divide the universe,
running at 24 frames per second
when the protagonist chooses red over blue.
