Mikhail Aizenberg is a poet, literary critic, and essayist. He is the author of five books of essays and ten books of poetry, including two collections published in the US: Less Than A Meter (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2004) and Say Thank You (Zephyr Press, 2007). He is the recipient of numerous literary awards in Russia including the Andrei Bely Prize (2003) and the Moskovsky Schet Grand Prize (2016). Born in Moscow in 1948, he began writing poems in the 1960s. While his work was not published in the Soviet Union, in post-Soviet Russia it appeared regularly in periodicals, almanacs, and anthologies.  end
