Laura Van Prooyen
LAURA VAN PROOYEN

Laura Van Prooyen is the author of two poetry collections: Our House Was on Fire (Ashland Poetry Press, 2015), which was nominated by Philip Levine and awarded the Robert McGovern Publication Prize, and was the winner of the 2015 Writers' League of Texas Book Award for Poetry; and Inkblot and Altar (Pecan Grove Press, 2006). Her work has appeared in The American Poetry ReviewBoston ReviewThe Southern Review, and elsewhere. In 2015, she received the annual Glenna Luschei Prairie Schooner Award. Van Prooyen earned her MFA in poetry at Warren Wilson College. She lives in San Antonio, TX.  end
