Joan Baranow
JOAN BARANOW

Joan Baranow is the author of In the Next Life (Poetic Matrix Press, 2019); Living Apart (Plain View Press, 1999); and two poetry chapbooks: Blackberry Winter (Talent House Press, 2002) and Morning: Three Poems (Radiolarian Press, 1997). Her work has appeared in The Gettysburg Review, The Paris Review, Poetry East, and Spillway, among others. She produced a feature-length documentary, The Time We Have, in 2018, and produced the PBS documentary Healing Words: Poetry & Medicine (2008) with her husband, David Watts. A Virginia Center for the Creative Arts fellow and member of the Community of Writers at Squaw Valley, she founded and directs the Low-Residency MFA program in Creative Writing at Dominican University of California.  end
